Privacy policy

Written in plain language. It follows Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).

What we collect

Employers: company details, the jobs you post, and what you do with applicants.
Your account: name, email address and a scrambled (hashed) password.
Your CV information: the text of your CV and the profile made from it (contact details, skills, work history, education). We read the words from your CV file and do not keep the CV file itself.
Credentials you upload (certificates, NYSC, transcripts, licences, ID): stored securely so they can go with your applications. They are only sent to employers if you switch on "Send my credentials with applications" on the My credentials page. You can delete any of them at any time.
Your job search: the jobs we find for you, the ones you approve or skip, and the applications made for you.
Phone notifications: if you turn them on, a technical address from your browser so we can send alerts.

To find jobs that fit you and show you why they fit.
To write a CV and cover letter for each job you approve, and to send your application to that employer. We only send to employers for jobs you have approved.
To send you job alerts by email and on your phone (you can stop either at any time).

The legal basis is your consent and the service you asked for (NDPA section 25). We never sell your information and we don't use it for advertising.

Employers receive your CV and cover letter only for jobs you approved. For jobs posted on JOBAI, the employer also sees your name, email and phone so they can contact you.
Employer search (only if you switch it on): if you tick "Let employers find you", employers searching on JOBAI see your headline, skills and experience. Employers on Premium can also see your name, contacts and CV and invite you to apply. Switch it off any time in My CV.
Paystack processes Premium payments. We never see or store your card details.
Google shows ads on some pages (Google AdSense). Google may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads at adssettings.google.com. Ads never see your CV.
OpenAI processes your CV text to read it and to write tailored applications. It is sent with storage switched off.
The "Need help?" assistant: your questions are sent to OpenAI to write an answer. They're not stored; don't type passwords or card details.
Resend delivers emails. Railway hosts the app and database.

Some of these companies are outside Nigeria. We use them with safeguards for transferring personal data as the NDPA requires.

See and download your data: Settings → Download my data.
Correct it: edit your profile, or upload a new CV.
Delete everything: Settings → Delete my account. Your account, CV information, matches and applications are deleted straight away. Emails already sent to employers can't be recalled.
Stop alerts: use the link in any email, or switch them off in Settings.
You can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

For as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, it is removed straight away from the live database.
